Having served in the French Foreign Legion, I had all the necessary skills to join the Ukrainian army immediately after the events of February 2022. My military service was interrupted near Bakhmut 9 months later due to a combat injury that caused me to lose my right leg.

Hello, my name is Ruslana Danilkina. I am from Odesa. I joined the military when I was 18 years old. I lost my left leg on an operational mission in the Kherson region, as our vehicle was hit by a cluster bomb. After returning from the hospital with my leg severed, I started actively publishing on the Internet and developing social networks. I gained a fairly large number of followers on the Internet, including the first lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.

Serhii Shuliak

Hello, my name is Serhii, I am from Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi. Despite significant health problems (asthma) since childhood, I decided to join the active military service of Ukraine on February 25, 2022. I was awarded by President Zelensky for my efforts in the defense of Kherson. Unfortunately, last winter, my military service was terminated early due to a combat injury in Bakhmut.

Hello everyone, my name is Margarita. I was born and raised in Kharkiv and have a master's degree in journalism. Last year was very unexpected for me and many other Ukrainians. On February 20, it was my birthday, and almost after returning from my birthday, it was already February 23, 2022, and the next day I was already in the military registration and enlistment office. I still work in the Armed Forces of Ukraine with various PR, communication and copywriting tasks. I have also acquired the skills of a military medic.

Petro Konoplya

Hello, my name is Petro. Before the war, I was an actor, playing the role of a soldier. I had no idea that the cruel dawn of February 24, 2022 would turn fiction into reality. After more than 1 year on the battlefields of Donetsk region, I was wounded. My name means “cannabis” or “hemp” in Ukrainian, which I take as a sign of my energy and ability to stay soft. I have several business ideas that I hope to support with the help of the Young Veterans of Ukraine project. I can no longer fight on the battlefield.

Denis Bondar

He fought since 2014, in 2017 Denys was seriously wounded in the battles for Avdiivka. The treatment was long - he was rehabilitated thanks to sports. When the great Russian invasion began, Denis and his wife were already raising five children. Despite the state of health and the large number of children, the man returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces.A year later, Denis was demobilized. After returning to civilian life, the man got a job as a school physical education teacher, but felt the need to do something more.

Stanislav Raldugin

He served in a military orchestra. He joined the army on February 25, the second day of the full-scale Russian invasion. Recently, Stanislav took part in a business hackathon of the Project to Support Young Veterans and Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine, where he gained the necessary knowledge to turn his dream into a clear business plan. Aspires to develop his own recording studio. It aims to launch a music label that will find talented Ukrainian performers and promote them on the all-Ukrainian and, later, on the world stage.

Oleg Hrubyi

Convinced that everyone, even those who are not in the war, should have basic training. There is a set of basic things that everyone who stays in Ukraine needs to know. That is why his idea is related to the preparation of civilians for war. The participant wants to open an airsoft club where military personnel, including veterans, will work as instructors.

Denys Sherengovskyi

He was mobilized in March 2022, before that he served in military service and fought in the ATO zone. He was wounded in Donetsk region.The veteran's business idea is related to the opening of a healthy food establishment. Denis has already written a detailed plan for his business. Currently, the man has entered a higher educational institution, is applying to various educational programs and is looking for opportunities for development.
